Here on the front range in Colorado Springs/Denver there is a selection of BCBA specialists. Am I to assume that there isn't a large autism community/population on the northern end of the state? If the population doesn't vary much, then do they not see a behavior specialist?

Default Autism Colorado

Coloradoans do not support children nor adults with special needs period! I live in southern colorado and there is nothing here. I been falsely accused of child sexual abuse in school district 70 Pueblo West. I have had many neighbors in Pueblo west harass me due to my son. In Trinidad I have had the public schools strip my son looking for child abuse. My son is now 11 years old and he only gets 4 whole hours a week schooling. I cant do nothing about it here. Charles Masner hearing officer CDE dismisses all due process cases. Coloradoans do not like paying taxes for other peoples children. Most people with special needs children in Colorado end up moving or homeschooling. The harassment here is great and barbaric.

That is horrible to hear. Hear in the Colorado Springs area, we have great autism programs. From the way your post reads, I now understand why our autism population is exploding. Districts are really starting to specialize in autism and have teachers who have degress in applied behavior analysis. Additionally, BCBA consultants are hired to help train and work with paras/teachers. Conferences on autism are the thing to attend here due to the growing population. Here in Fountain Fort Carson D8, we have a couple autism programs. One program is geared for the student with severe autism and has yet to find his/her voice and has huge sensory diet needs. Another program is for the kiddos who can't quite be in a regular ed setting but are working on their communication, sensory, and social issues. We also have students who are in the reg ed setting with para-educators who support them all day. District 8 is an advocate for working with students with autism. I myself am a moderate needs special education teacher and I have a few students who have autism. We work hard on balancing academics, communication, socializing, and sensory issues for students. At this point, our parents really like the support we give.
Maybe you should consider coming up sometime in the future and visiting our programs. I would really be interested in your thoughts.

There used to be a woman named Tanja Brown who worked in the Colorado springs area. She also starts programs using temp addresses and cell phone only. In 2006, she worked for pueblo west school district 70 where she highly judged me and falsely accused us of child sexual abuse. All never forget that social worker following the school bus to my house one night. Tanja Brown and Greg Keasling refused to let my son out of Tanja Browns autism pilot program. Even though there was other programs available. I tried school district 60 but my son was black balled. See there thoughts were my son is a genius just in a horrid home. He doesnt have autism just severely emotionally disturbed. So if child protective services would of taken him, he would of not went to a foster home but the states mental ward hospital.
I would be more then happy to check out your programs when I do get up to that area. I KNOW THAT MY SON IS BLACK BALLED ANYWHERE WE MOVE IN COLORADO. I pray we move but I am stuck here like the plague.
When I lived in Pueblo West I tried to get my sons soaring eagles center for autism bill payed for by the CES waiver. I signed up with Bluesky Tracy Apodaca. She never placed him on the waiting list and after 10 months of her constant harassment, I gave up and said leave me alone. In Trinidad Colorado I was told I was on the CES waiver list now for over a year. A week ago my case worker got a email stating my son was never placed on the waiting list because we did not do all the paperwork. See thats how colorado operates. Very corrupt and the good old boy syndrome. Pueblo Colorado is as much corrupt is Trinidad is. Anywhere I go in this state I am black balled. I wish to move but none of my relatives are to care and my husband only cares about his job and himself!! If I ever do move, I am telling the new state that we homeschooled and giving them a fake address from another town. Do you know how these people corrupted my sons record?? Lets go back in history.........Hubby retires airforce we move to colorado october 2000. My son denied preschool due to our income so I had to fake residency in Raton New Mexico just to get him in school. Dont try to contact Charles Masner CDE he is a joke. Kindergarten he was only offered 1 1/2 of school. I complained to Charles Masner who said Colorado does not have to adopt a out of state IEP. So my son did not attend kindergarten. First grade a whole 2 1/2 hours a day. Second grade all day but he was stripped naked several times looking for child abuse. Thats the start of social service record Trinidad colorado style. Third grade pueblo west sexual abuse harassment. He was only in school for two months. Fourth grade back in trinidad. He only attended 3 weeks before a teacher said he tried to rape her!!! Fifth grade I was forced to bring him to school thus family support counselor. My son in fifth grade only attends 4 hours a WEEK. Thats right school 4 hours a week. I hate it here!!
Pueblo West had alot of fake christians there. Many of whom went to my house several times to invite me to there church. They seen how severe my son was and how he would urinate anywhere he was. I was told by many of them quote ' STOP TAKING YOUR SICK SON OVER YOUR OWN HUSBAND and WHY ARE YOU TAKING YOUR SICK SON OVER YOUR 3 HEALTHY CHILDREN!! ' unquote They all felt he belonged to a group home or institution. I wouldnt place A COCKROACH IN THE STATE OF COLORADOS CARE let alone a living human being!!
