Hi all. I am hearing very mixed reviews about Rainforest Cafe in Sawgrass Mills Mall... For those of you who have been there, is the food good or no? I appreciate any advice!!

Depends on your definition of good. What are you looking for - and what other places do you like? I rarely like chains and really dislike pseduo- fast food places (Chilis; Fridays; Bahama Breeze) - its one of those.

I am not anti chain...if you want really good queso dip and two for one drinks, go to Chili's You want a decent steak at a reasonable price? Go to Outback. Chain restaurants have their purpose...
sometimes you just want to know what you are going to get. Sometimes, you don't feel like risking your hard earned money at the end of a long work week on a new establishment.

Problem is...RFC doesn't really have anything that stands out. The atmosphere is kind of cool, though. Maybe go and share a dessert after eaiting a really good dinner somewhere else! But nah, cannot recommend it.

That's place is awful! If it didn't have the nice salt water aquariums and jungle atmosphere inside there, I'd never eat at that place. I only did it because my kids wanted to go. The service is so 3rd rate and the price is crazy for what you get.

We ate there a couple of times - we didn't care for the food and never went back.

Wow, someone I agree with about American chain restaurants. Chili's, Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays, and Fridays are drastically overpriced, and the food is not that good. A typical meal (lets say burger, fries, and coke) costs no less than $25 when you factor in tip. Then if you want an appetizer or desert that ups the price another $6-7. A beer is another $5. Plus you walk out of there feeling like you're pregnant since there food is loaded with additives.

You can eat much better quality food at lower prices at Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs, and Seasons 52. I can get out of Cheesecake Factory for about $22 for a dinner and glass of wine.

The one thing I will give that guy is that Outback does make a good steak.
