Has anyone been to Flamingo Gardens.

We are interested and thinking of becoming members since you can go to many other places using your membership.

Would like to know what others think of this place.

I used to be a member and I liked going out there. It was a little far though. I haven't been a member in a few years now.

I live literally across the street and went for the 1st time last year. It was an EXCELLENT way to spend a day. Worth every dime and I already have the urge to go back. The place is huge...acres and acres of the most lush plants and tropical foliage I have ever seen. HUGE oak tree's. Lots of very cool exotic animals, birds, wild peacocks everywhere. Reptile show, very informative tram ride through the "forest" of exotic tree's. I really liked this place a lot.

Agree with Heydade. The place is a delight.
Besides the flora and fauna there is an old house/museum on the premises that offers an interesting insight into the life style of the original owners in the 1920's. The house was obviously designed to get cross ventilation wherever possible with one glaring exception. Note the lack of airflow in the kitchen. Obviously the wife didn't need to breathe very often.

Default thanks!

We are planning to go too, something to see that is way different than what we have in West Texas for sure!
