Hi all,

The wife and I are coming into Ft. Lauderdale on Friday where we'll spend the night before heading to Key West on Saturday. We don't need a 4 star hotel but we'd like something safe and in a good area. We'd like to explore a little bit as well. We're looking for something like a Hampton Inn or something similar.

Any suggestions? You don't have to provide an address as I can look it up but a street name (if you know it) would be good.

Thanks

There is an Embassy Suites on 17th Street Causeway.... Great location thats minutes away from the airport..... Numerous restaurants around the area, safe to walk around and Ft. Lauderdale beach is about 6 to 8 minutes away......

The Hampton Inn located in downtown Fort Lauderdale is a nice place. I believe the address is 250 N. Andrews Avenue. My family stayed there about 1 year ago while visiting. It is centrally locating in the downtown area. Has an inside parking garage that is gated. You are minutes from the beach and Las Olas. Also minutes from the airport, cruise port, and rental cars.

It is a good hotel. Just keep in mind that the neighborhoods a block or two west of the hotel begin to decline and there isn't much stuff walking distance. The Las Olas section of downtown is very close driving through, maybe 1-2 minutes away and there are lots of good night time restaurants and lounges. The beaches are a short drive away too.
