You don't want to be too close to 95 because the neighborhoods are rough there. You are best off staying east of US1, even on the ocean. You should be able to find a 1/1 beach condo on Hallandale Beach for right around $1000. I'm not too familiar with the individual buildings. But you can live pretty close to the beach which is a plus. The beach isn't anymore than 10 minutes east of 95 anyways.

You could also check out downtown Hollywood. The Young Circle area is up and coming.

Just to the west of Topeekeegee Yugnee (T.Y.) Park is a neighborhood called Emerald Hills it's bounded on the east by Park Rd and the south by Sheridan St. There are quite a few apartment communities there. I've only been through the neighborhood while going to or coming from the park, but it seems well kept and quiet. It would be about a 3 to 5 minute drive to get on I-95.

Hallandale can be hit or miss. Check out the apartment complexes around Three Islands Blvd and Diplomat Country Club. I lived on Three Islands a couple of years ago and found the traffic on Hallandale Beach Rd which leads to I-95 to always be congested. During the winter it probably would have been faster to walk.

Is there anything else you would like in your neighborhood? Walkability? Shopping? Nightlife? Etc?

There are several rental apartment communities on Park Road south of Hollywood Blvd., right around Washington St. It's only a few blocks to I-95 and very safe (right behind the Hollywood Police Station, actually!).

Agreed, this is good area, if you're going to live in an apartment community, given the proximity to the police station, I95 and the Trirail station at Hollywood Blvd. There is a Starbucks, Einsteins, Publix and Target right down the street as well.

LOL during the winter there's almost always someone with a Quebec tag going 20 mph on Hallandale. Is it possible they mistake the speed limits for km/h?

Anyways, Emerald Hills and President's Circle are the best areas I can think of close to I-95. I'll put in for SkyLake in North Miami Beach too, if you're willing to go a couple miles "south of the border"

Three Islands is old, but it's a decent area, and I think there are buildings with studios, which should rent for $1000.00, probably less, because I doubt it's updated. You can walk to the beach, but traffic on Hallandale beach Blvd is conjested, though not enough to discount this location. I personally like that area. Getting to 95 isn't really that bad-I did it for a couple months last year, and it was bearable.
