I am relocating to the fort laudy area from Wisconsin. I'm a 26 yr old single/straight male just looking to get out of the cold for a couple yrs. I have visited before and have a couple people I know down here. Which neighborhood do you suggest? I am just looking for an inexpensive bachelor pad, something preferably close to the action but in a safe area.Obviously looking to meet some new women too preferably Latina. Any suggestions?

What is your budget for rent? The hottest area for young, singles in their 20's is Las Olas. That area is also the most expensive, so it would depend. For less expensive apartments, you'll most likely have to look in the suburbs. There is one apartment complex called Port Royale in Fort Lauderdale where the rents are reasonable, but it is about 20 minutes from downtown.

Will you be working?
Find something close to where you work.

If money's no object, I agree with Las Olas.

Budget for rent is from 700-9. I would consider a studio if it wasn't a dump. I won't be working in one specific area but the office is in Deerfield beach. I don't mind commuting, is there any specific complexes besides port royale to look into? I have been seeing a lot of these small hut type studios on Craigslist but idk how legit those are.

$700-900 is gonna get you a dumpier place in the downtown area. Rents are generally less the further north you go. You could live in Deerfield for less.
