I think a large public Aquarium like they have in cities like Tampa and Chicago would have been a very good tourist attraction that could have been built here that would have created jobs in Fort Lauderdale plus would have been a good education facility for children and adults who want to see and learn about sea life in the seas waters off of Fort Lauderdale if elected officials in Fort Lauderdale had followed the advice I emailed to them about what giving the public something they would pay to see instead of pouring more money into the Swimming Hall of Fame complex which doesn't exactly have long lines of ticket buyers waiting to get in to see a diving board or a swimming pool that some famous athlete or the other jumped off of or swam in.

Ft. Lauderdale does not have an aquarium as you said, but Miami is building a state of the art science museum that with feature one. Hopefully that will create some jobs and bring tourists.

We had one, it was called Ocean World. The Art Institute and parking lot on SE 17th St now take up its space.
