We are using points to stay at this property and have read some scary posts of how expensive the restaurants in the hotel are. Any suggestions for affordable dining close to the Diplomat? Also, entertainment options for a family of 4 with a 17 and 12 yr. old?

There is a good Cuban restaurant on Hallandale Beach Blvd called Padrinos. You can walk there from the hotel. Further west there is a place I've always wanted to go to, but haven't had the time. It's called Tatiana's and is a Russian restaurant/cabaret with shows in the evening.

If you travel about two/three miles north and two miles west, you'll be in downtown Hollywood. It's a short taxi ride, but you'll have almost the entire gamut of all possible cuisines.

DON'T DON'T EAT THE FOOD THERE!!!!!!!!!

It's horrible and over priced - I stayed there in October........

Watch the water, I ruined three shorts due to tar in the water......

Also park in the garage across the street from the hotel as it's a lil cheaper than the one below. And don't eat the food in the refrigerator or use the bathrobes...or you would be pleasently surprised..

They rent jetskis directly in front the hotel. And the pools/area is awesome.....

Try and get a high floor as the view is spectacular...

Default And this is your bathroom...

From the bedroom you will see double doors across from the bed. Slide open the doors and step over into your tub.

Evidence of tar can be seen.

As far as quick breakfast's, there's a lil area to the left of the lobby that has bagels, coffee, etc..
