I don't know, maybe I'm a romantic, but I often feel that even the snobbiest people can be broken-opened with a lot of kindness and open heart. I guess working in fashion for 10 years, I learned how to approach snobby scary fashionistas and I think I will be able to make friends that way even amongst the snobbiest.
JOel and I accidentally drove into this community, I think it's called Weston Hills and there were mansions, way out of our league... It was fun though, pretend we can afford them. Lol...
Some security at Weston Hills huh ... if you look like decent people and look like you are from out of town and say you are house hunting they
will most likely let you in at the gate house !!

Again we loved our time in Weston and still get down there often .... may I ask what is your budget for a home purchase ?

well - we are small people with only one child and we love small houses. A townhouse with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a decent size backyard...so perhaps around 300K...

We stayed at St. Andrew's for several months before we bought in Weston. It wasn't bad. I felt the kitchen and baths were outdated and needed work. Everyone was very pleasant there. Lots of younger kids. Maintenance was always on top of things.
Once we moved more into the center of Weston it added about 5 + minutes to our commute towards 595 and Sunrise. I know it sounds silly but it took me a while to get used to the extra time.
I know that your child is young but keep in mind that should she/he go to public school,t here are no buses for students living within a 2 mile radius of the school. I don't know if this holds true for elementary schools. I kept this in mind while looking at homes. I didn't want to live right inside the 2 mile border! We chose a a home about 1/2 mile away. I think they tried to keep the elementary schools as close to the neighborhoods as possible.
I haven't met anyone that I haven't liked here. I don't think you can go wrong in any community. You will just need to figure out what works best for you. We looked in several of the developments listed by Rock and they all seemed nice too.
Good luck with your move.

I only know one preschool, where our kids went. It used to be called Another Generation, then was renamed into Chesterbrook Academy, now it is called Paladyne Academy. It was quite good. It is off Indian Trace, near I-75 (East side of town)
