It no wonder businesses don't want to locate here. Overnight UPS shipping costs are more than double of those off this peninsula. The postal service generally does not do overnight packages out of state. Does anyone know cheaper ways to send packages overnight? Even regular ground shipping seems to be more expensive here.

Depends on where you're shipping to and what you're shipping. Can you use the Flat rate boxes? I believe it's a 2 day turn-around. I want to say they have a 80 lb limit. I just sent a couple of DVDs to my kid in NC - tried the flat rate of 10.95 but turned out that it was cheaper to send in priority by weight/size (7.90)

There's always Fedex / UPS.

Thanks. Yes the flat rate boxes are great for some thing but not overnight. I'll have to check Fed Ex but I think UPS is usually cheaper.
