Tim, I live half a mile north of where you're buliding. I've put my shutters up once since Charlie. I like to wait til I "know" I need them. I can get it done in a few hours and I have a large two story home. Some people put them up everytime there's a storm in the gulf though. Having said that, I think hurricane glass would be awesome "if" you can afford it.
