Hello! We are visiting Boca Grande in a few days and were hoping for a restaurant recommendation. We have eaten at South Beach and have loved it, but would like to try something new. It shouldn't be a seafood restaurant, though, as my daughter is allergic to shellfish. (It can serve shellfish, but a dedicated seafood restaurant would have too high a risk of possible contamination of other foods for me to be comfortable with.) Low to moderate prices, please... comparable to South Beach in terms of price would be good!

Thanks!

Don't mean to change the subject.....just curious. Do you carry any kind antidote medication in case she should accidentally get some shellfish contamination?
I remember a case in Mass, years ago where a woman with pine nut allergy actually choked to death in front of her daughter after asking and being assured by the wait staff that her lunch was safe.

Yes, I have an epi-pen for her. It's injectable epinephrine, which would open her airway passages and slow down the reaction until an ambulance could get there. I don't know about the woman in Massachusetts, but how awful! I would think that anyone with a severe food allergy would be given an epi-pen to carry, but maybe she didn't have it with her for some reason. Yikes! Scary!
