Hello all,

I am in Ft Myers right now and have been looking at properties - rental and sales. (My husband is on his 3rd interview, 2 by phone now one in person)

I have been using realtor.com and I am running into issues with houses that are already under contract or have already been rented. My nephew (who has my listing in MD) told me that Realtor.com downloads from local databases and it takes several days to be updated. I am also aware that it is up to agents to update their listings too.

In MD, the local database I use is homesdatabase.com and it's updated every 12 hrs.

Can anyone recommend a local homes database?

Thanks.

IMHO, though I know many will agree, the best LOCAL database of available properties for rent, or sale, isnt a "database" at all. It is a free paper, published once weekly. It's called the "Lee County SHOPPER". Published every week, so it always has the latest offerings, some by Realtor, many, many more, by owner. The newest issue is dated for Wednesday of each week. The new issue usually hits the newstands Tuesday. Look for it in the convenience stores(Circle K, 7-11) near the entrance to Publix stores, In the RED box where you see a line of paper boxes. Likely in the lobby of where ever you're staying as well.
In case you cannot find it. The ads are available online at
Hot-Ads FL

The online ads are updated each week also, but not certain what day. Good luck, and enjoy your stay.

If you google "Fort Myers Cape Corl MLS search" many options come up. Some may require you to "sign up" but many do not.
Good
