I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good psychologist in the Mid-Cities area who takes insurance? I've tried several who were listed on my insurance provider's website (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), but when I call, they say they no longer accept any insurance. Is this a new thing, or am I just having bad luck?

Thanks!

Maybe look on the Aetna website......thinking if they take Aetna they would take others
I have not had that problem when looking for specialists on Aetna's website, tho have not sought counseling services

think it is just part of having a non-single-payer health system
insurance companies aren't paying enough to health care professionals like psychiatrists and they don't want to do the paperwork if they were--

The best therapists aren't going to take insurance. Your best bet (if you want results) is to try to find someone good that you can afford. Most therapists who don't take insurance can still provide you with documentation for "out of network" reimbursement.

I'm pretty sure you can also take money from your HSA if you have one and use that. Mental Health is still "health" right?
