Today was an absolutely gorgeous day, and I have most of the day off so I decided to snap some pictures of the spring brilliance in the area. I hope you enjoy.

This house next to the park is one of my favorites.

And several more of Hurst town centre, just a block from my home.

Default But Dallas is a barren desert!

You are not showing the Dallas/Ft Worth area as a barren desert! What will people on the East and West Coasts think?

I would hope no one would think Dallas/FW as barren desert. That would be really weird, but I guess possible. If so, they certainly don't know their geography too well.

Thanks for the nice comment KewGee! I love Spring and all of the green. The area is so beautiful at this time of the year (as well as in the Fall). LOL the barren desert comment Native.. People who don't know the area don't know what they're missing!

That really is funny. I've been to the Mojave and can only compare it to way west Texas. As Synopsis has posted before, so many people think the entire state of Texas is full or tumbleweeds and prairies. I'm so glad it isn't the way many envision.

Yeah, much like many folks think California is all sand and surf...not!!
I was getting kind of worried with many people saying how hot it is there, but heck the summers here are over 110! So, I think we will do just fine!

If you live in the Mojave, I don't think the Texas summers will "do you in." They are quite humid, last very long, but everyone reacts differently to that. It doesn't bother many, but others find it very uncomfortable.
