I am posting this for a good friend of mine.

My friend is looking for a High School Math teaching position.

She has is certified to teach 8th-12th grade Math, as well as she has a degree in Engineering. She is also in the Army reserves as well.

If you have any leads on any Math teaching jobs for 8th-12th grade in the Fort Worth area please post here.

Anything you know of will be of great help.

Thanks = )

She is doing that. Some of the school districts do not post there jobs as you have to call each individual schools. I am just trying to help her find some leads. Thanks for your advice.

frankly at this time of the year a lot of openings that come available right before school opens don't make it on the web site
the principals are looking for people to fill job slots before school opens--they are under pressure--they want to lock someone up vs do lot of interviewing
they are more likely to go with someone they interviewed and passed over for someone else just because they HAVE seen them---or maybe the first person with qualifications that walks through the door

your friend is at real disadvantage NOT to be here and making calls on schools
I know the web sites says not to do that--but she needs to send her resume/cover letter to any principal whose schools she would want to work at
sometimes there is a job---it is just not posted

is your friend certified in TX?
has she taught before?
is she living in the DFW area?

her reserve status could hurt her since there is the possiblility she could be called up for active service even now...

She does live here in Fort Worth. I am just posting info on here to help her out.
She has been calling schools and calling the recruitment department weekly to see if there are any openings and at this point there are known in Forth Worth ISD.

She is certified in Texas. This is her first year to teach.

I feel bad for her because has worked so hard at trying to find a job and things just don't work out. My mission is to help her out. I know what it feels like to be "new" trying to find a teaching job so I am trying to get any leads and forward them to her.

I am trying to keep her positive and tell her the same thing as you have. She is trying to be optimistic about it, but wishes she could feel relaxed knowing she has a job for the school year.

This may be out of her way, but She might try Canton and Surrounding areas, while it is a little out of the way they are constantly looking for teachers! hope this helps!
