Hi all! My fiance is being transferred to Ft. Worth. I've been looking at all of the suburbs people have recommended. However, I've found some nice, newer homes in ft worth with exactly what we are looking for..rent $1000-1200, 3 bdrms, small yard. They seem to be in a nice, newer neighborhood with sidewalks, a swimming pool, etc. There was nothing like this I could find in the nice suburbs. I'm just wondering about the safety of ft worth and what areas are good, which to stay away from, etc. It seems most of the homes I've found are around interstate 20 and 30..what do you think about that area? We are moving with the next month or two and I am at such a loss! Any info would really help, thank you!!

interstate 20 and 30 ???
both cover the E/W latitude of FTW--
nothing helpful there in terms of where these homes are--
some areas are safe and some areas are not
find a crime map and check to see or give more specific locations so people can give more specific info

Whatever area you live in its a good idea to make sure your car is secured by gated area or garage etc. You can purchase a wireless security system; there are lots of choices! Check with the local police to find out crime rate and compare a few areas. I have lived all over the DFW area since 1978 and the only crime I experienced was in Mansfield! That is probably one of the safest communities around. We had a string of crimes near the Northpark area in Dallas -- one of the nicest, affluent areas! So, you just have to secure your belongings wherever you live.
