Sofa's and couches could also have pee on them from pets and/or toddlers being potty trained.

I actually bought my bed set (mattress and box spring) used from a well known hotel chain. Never had a worry about it either, but it seems a lot of people do as it cost me VERY little and the beds took a while to sell.

I know for a fact that this hotel always used thick good quality mattress covers on every bed, plus turned them on a set schedule AND the beds were only 2 years old but had probably only been actually SLEPT on a minimum of a tenth of that time.

I bought a new mattress cover when I got the bed, so I'm not actually sleeping on the same surface the guests did anyway.

How do I know all this? It was the hotel I did night audit for LOL
