Cars.

I've bought and sold a lot of collectible cars in my lifetime. Enjoyed them and made money when I sold them.

That's the way to do it. I'm always amazed at the people who own one or more cars but don't know anything about cars, so they are "money pits".

But guys like us who live in dry climates, don't salt up the car in the winter, and are able to take care of at least routing maintenance DIY, and perhaps most important park valuable cars in a garage, make out like bandits.

I am much_cheapo_guy and a very bumbling tinkerer.

A very nice, handheld digital-storage-oscilloscope from AliExpress for 84-dollars plus tax, free
express shipping.

Scope came with 2 sets of attenuating-probes so it can measure high-voltage, has cursors, built-in
signal-generator, a fairly large display for a cheap handheld, a long battery-powered run-time.

Buy something like this from an American seller, probably around $500.

When my Mom was living, we splurged on our Cable TV so she could have NatGeo Wild (she LOVED Dr. Pol) and her weekly magazines. Now, I am finding out for myself what I want to splurge on - haven't quite figured it out yet.

One of my hobbies is road cycling. So I will spend decent money on quality cycling clothing. Cheap stuff will just make you miserable and uncomfortable.

The highest quality I can afford, in whatever I buy. Especially, sheets and towels.
