I had a clover lwan for a few years in another house. I loved it....the only caveat was its tendency to attract honey bees if I didn't mow it frequently...seems a single flower would bring them in droves. I liked to go out barefoot otherwise that wouldn't have been a big deal. That lawn worked very well for me in arid Colorado; I am not sure how it would work in your region.
