I am told the strange plant in my back yard is a voodoo plant. it sorta resembles a tree fern but with a spotted fleshy trunk. Anyone familiar with these?
Sid
Just saw a listing on the internet, it is also known as a Snake plant. Now it is just reemerging from the ground after being dormant since December. At first it looked like a white whale tooth coming out of the ground, now the tooth is opening an a deep red fleshy material is coming out- maybe leaves. I would send a pic but cant figure how to cut and paste on the mac.
Alsidw,
Yes, I have some. They are bulbs. They will live a long time too, and multiply
if they are happy.
Mine haven't sprouted yet this year, but I found the bulbs about a couple weeks
ago and they are alive. (I have them in a pot).
Cool looking and the stinky flower (looks like a calla lilly sort of),
only lasts one day.
I love anything that is different!
Last year it was about 6 feet tall, and grows in an area of heavy shade next to a tree fern of similar size. Does the plant require any special food?
