Help with stihl weedeater (spring, fast)

I accidentally snagged the "trigger" of my weedeater (stihl km 55 r) in between the bed and tailgate of my truck the other day. Nothing appeared to be broken. Took it apart and I thought I fixed it. It would run but wouldn't spin very fast. So I figured it was the shaft. Took it back apart and tried to fix that. Now the trigger just goes in and the engine ramps up full throttle.

I'm not sure what to do. It's probably something simple.

Here's a picture (hope it shows up).

See the end of the spring thing on the left (where the down arrow points). Is it suppose to go into the slot where the right pointing arrow is?

That's where it was when I fixed it originally but now when I put it there, it just won't stay.

Any other ideas or just take it to the shop?

It won't stay cause the right side of the spring is not seated behind that nub. See that shiny spot just behind that nub? That's where the right side should sit. Looks like you have to lift the trigger up in order to get the spring back on that side. Or I'm completely wrong, which wouldn't be the first time, and or the last.

I'd look up schematic on internet ;likely you'll find something and maybe even a video on Utube.

You know, my eyes must be getting worse. I didn't see that shiny spot until you mentioned it and I zoomed in on the pic.

That was all I needed. Thank you. It's working fine now.
