Just thought I'd post a few pictures from a walk at the weekend, taken in the suburbs of London on a normal summer day.

Any idea what the tree is with the papery seed pods?

Feel free to post your pictures of city gardens, etc!

It seems to be a golden rain tree

I think most of the plants that are grown in parks and gardens here are non-native species!

A couple of pics from today.

Random ferns and things growing out of the trunk, like an apartment building for plants lol.

Pictures taken this evening. Definitely noticing the early sunsets now; these pics were taken around 7-7:30pm!

Let's see some typical suburban gardens where you are..

Wonderful photos! I'm surprised to see palm trees at London's latitude . . . I didn't expect that. People are surprised to see them in my part of Northern California which is about 38 degrees latitude. London is about 51 degrees. I learned something today. Thanks so much for posting these.

The coldest winter month has averages of 47/36, and even the coldest night of the year will struggle to get below 23-24f. That's how they survive here.

Are you talking about the recent set of pictures, or the original link from mid-August? The water in both set of photos is the River Thames (about 14-17 miles upstream from the main tourist areas).
