New England has been cool lately. Night temps down into the 50's and feeling like fall. Morning dews have been rather heavy now, and days are starting to get short.
I've got my seed ready to go to tackle a few thin spots this fall. Can I toss now and try to stretch the growing season, or wait a few weeks?

Here on Long Island, it has been quite cool also, so I took advantage and threw down some grass seed in a 5X5 bare spot. Three weeks later it's almost blended in with the rest of the lawn. Go for it!
Now is ideal. Here in VA I put mine down last weekend.
BE sure it doesn't dry out and mist accordingly.

Have any opinions on liquid seaweed? I have a bud who is a mad scientist gardener. Since Harvey hit the Texas coast, he's biting at the bit trying to get to the coast before they cleanup all of the seaweed. He puts it in garbage cans and then fills it with water. After about 2 weeks, he waters his garden with it. His garden is something to see too. He grows tomatoes in bales of hay and he uses old tires, fills them with dirt/compost and then plants his seeds in January for the spring planting. The black tires absorbs heat and keeps the seedlings from freezing at night. He also gets raw chicken manure and composts it. We call it Magic Dirt. It'll grow anything, anywhere. I don't know his recipe for mixing it as I know it can get too hot but it works....like magic. So what's the opinion of liquid seaweed?
I'm sticking with Leafgro in the Spring/Milorganite in the Summer.
Then in Fall Milorganite with some synthetic.
