I am thinking about ordering one of these for growing spring lettuces, and I think it would also work for greens in the fall. Does anyone have experience with these?
They would probably work well, but I've never used that planter. A few summers I used a bowl type plastic pot that was about 24" across and the mixed lettuce seeds I used grew very well and fast. You will have a slightly shaded side unless you can rotate it. I didn't have a huge harvest but it supplemented and added so. E variety to store bought stuff. I would harvest the outer leaves for a few weeks of the plants so the plants would continue to grow a little longer. I would suggest not planting seeds all at once but space two weeks apart on some.
Another thought, the stack planter does not have a lot of surface for planting that you may need for a usable amount of lettuce for , it may be better for smaller crops, herbs or vining plants.
Are you planting leaf or head lettuce? You'll be fine either way.
