That's how many cherries I picked from my 3 in 1 dwarf cherry tree today. It's been in at least 15 years and that's the most we've ever gotten from it.

Usually the thrashers, the mockingbirds, the cardinals, the starlings, the grackles and assorted finches get them first. I beat them this year for some reason.

I just went outside and a flock of assorted finches scattered out of it.

Would a net over the tree early in the season prevent the theft?

Tried that. More trouble than it's worth. We also have a standard sized Bing on the other side of the yard, the birds really work that one over.

Then there are the squirrels stealing apples.

I netted a fig tree when we lived in Texas. With the net, I got LOTS of figs. Without, I got LOTS of squirrels. The tree was not huge, however. It would be hard to net a full sized tree. Maybe a tree service could do it.

I netted my blueberries one year, but I only got a cup or so of berries, so this year I’ll just let the birdies have them. I like wildlife friendly plants.

Sorry I'm so late, I never came back to this thread until now.

Three varieties of cherries, I don't remember what they are although Bing is one. Helps in cross pollination.
