There are about 6 of these growing right upside the chain link fence. They're spaced about 8 feet apart and look like they were planted.
I didn't plant them that I can remember.
I pulled one up and it has just a straight plain root like a weed would have.
Anyone know what it is?
Thank you.

LOL! I just got an app where you take a picture of it and it compares it to other plants and one of the caparisons was a poke weed!

Another picture compared it to some kind of tobacco. Poke weed sounds more reasonable.
But where in the heck did the poke weed come from and why does it look like I planted it so neatly by the fence? Any ideas?

Don't know. Pokeweed, like any other weed, just shows up wherever. Birds eat the seeds and distribute them far and wide.

Birds eat the berries, then sit on the fence and poop the seeds.
