I'm not the OP, but I successfully grew tomatoes this spring/summer in pots (grow bags, actually). I used Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Garden Soil Vegetables & Herbs. Before I planted, I noticed the bag says for in-ground use only (not for pots), so I added some perlite to my mix (maybe a 3-to-1 mix of this soil to perlite) to make sure it was well-draining. Seemed to work just fine.
I've now got some carrots and beets planted in grow bags with closer to a 50/50 mix of a similar garden soil & perlite, and they're coming up nicely.
