Cleveland Selective or Bradford Pear? (flowers, grow, tree, back yard)

Trying to figure out if this is a Cleveland selective or Bradford. According to the previous owners it was a "pear tree" that they cut down because another tree in the yard was being removed and they didn't like how close this one was to the house. I had convinced a family member to let a couple of saplings that popped up closer to road grow and they're about 12' tall now. If it's a Bradford I might just remove it. Located in the D/FW area.

I believe it’s definitely a Bradford Pear!

The Cleveland usually grows with a great looking columnar shape, they are hardy and durable. Bradford’s are very susceptible to wind damage so I’d keep it trimmed as much as possible.

That spread of upward trunks will not last. Expect splitting. A beautiful tree when in bloom, though. Bradford.

Take it to your local nursery. Take a photo to show the shape and as long a twig as convenient. Plus a twig with flowers if at all possible.

Both cultivars do best if pruned appropriately. They need to have branches removed to keep too much weight building up on some of the interior branches, which might cause splitting.

Good to know. Its only 12' tall right now and about 25' away from the house, so It just needs a good prune. The tree will get the chainsaw once it's with in damaging distance of the shed on the other side of the fence.

That does NOT look like a bradford pear. GOogle it. THey are slenderer. THe branches trend upward and that is why they split.
