Just mowed this morning - perfect temp of just over 50 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. It was in long pants and long sleeves but after the cold, windy and chilly weather of late, it feels like heaven!

I love mowing before the weather turns hot and after the wet rainy season which means you have to mow through a jungle when it finally dries out.

A few great weeks in the spring/early summer, then a repeat in late September and October. The rest of the time is spent trying to mow after the neighbors are awake but before it gets too hot, or waiting until an hour before it gets dark. ...that and spending hours moving hoses around to keep the grass from going dormant.

I am so happy to know my lawncare guy enjoys it. Mowing is the one job I would gladly sacrifice to make that possible.

I fertilized, and now my weeds are growing faster than my somewhat dormant grass.

Time to go to the herbicides.

Ah, that first season cut...smell of fresh cut grass. Sound of a wood screen door smacking shut as the pitcher of lemonade is brought out. Baseball. Clouds of dirt rising as one rounds the infield bases. (Maybe next year?)

I love it.
