I just planted a second tibouchina, the best unknown plant ever. It is tropical, but it made it through the winter here in zone 8b. Even if it’s an annual where you live, it’s a knee high plant that is covered with bright purple blooms all summer long, so get it if you can.

One of my fellow Master Gardeners is having a plant swap on Saturday, and she has some tibouchina grandifolia, which has a large velvety leaf. I hope I will be able to get one from her.

Well, I went to the nursery and bought too much, as usual. Prices were not prohibitive.
Re-did most of my containers with:
-- a purple, a light pink, and a light blue salvia.....
-- allium, ornamental onion
-- bee balm
-- green twister echinacea/coneflower (my first time with any echinacea but the green/yellow combo of the green twister was to weird NOT to get
-- something else with little red flowers, which I can’t remember
-- 2 (more) daylilies (a red and a dark red/burgundy)
-- Yet another crocosmia (they only last a couple of years for me, but I can’t let it go
