Anyone use heat pads? They help keep soil at correct temp for seed to germinate or to keep cuttings from mildew damp off.

I put seed starts on top of my furnace for a little extra warmth to germinate. They don't need light to germinate. Most seeds need soil temp 65+ to get good rate of germination https://extension.oregonstate.edu/ga...ed-germination

Good air circulation helps prevent surface mold from growing on the soil. If you still get it, a little squirt of Copper Coat gasket spray- available at any auto parts store- willkill it off and prrevent further growth of mold https://www.zoro.com/kw-permanent-me...10080302008005

Me either. Copper Coat gasket spray. Maes sense… copper is a fungicide All provide prevention (not treatment) of a variety of fungal, bacterial.

Hey GudoLaMoto….Thanks for the copper spray hint. Beats mixing the powder up in a spray bottle…

Looked it up online. It says the spray can has a sticky ingredient to hold the gaskets in place. How would the sticky stuff effect seed growth?

It's amazing to see what has worked for others and what advice is given. Doesn't that have chemicals in it? Why would you spray a seedling with a foreign substance?

I would try it on 1 or 2 first before you start spraying an entire tray of seedlings

I've had success with growing vegetables using aquaponics indoors but never a full on green house.
