I know you can do this for your yard, but, here in Kentucky, you can take a soil sample to your county extension office. Here it will be shipped to University of Kentucky, analyzed and they send you a print out of what you need.
I agree. As a Master Gardener, we hand out free soil test kits at every public event so that people will get their soil tested and receive really extensive reports from Virginia Tech. It's very cheap as well.

My dad always wanted the fullest green yard he could get. Got the soil sample results back and, I don't remember what he was told to put on the yard, but for about a month he had to mow twice a week.
