This spring I bought a half-dozen plants of the ornamental pepper 'Black Pearl' and absolutely love it! Does anyone know if it will come true from seed? If so, what is the correct procedure for harvesting seed from the 'pepper' fruits? This is the first time I've tried an ornamental pepper... normally I only plant perennials and shrubs, or throw-away annuals like impatiens in small beds. The nursery I bought it from can't guarantee that they will stock anything again from one year to the next. I'm in Zone 7 so this plant is not hardy for me.
