I have moved in the past with PODS and was thrilled with the way it all went.
My house is going on the market next week and I am now exploring my options for the move (UGH!, moving). PODS does not go where I am moving to. Most of the container shippers do not.
UBOX, a U-Haul service, goes where I am moving. Has anyone used this service? I would love to hear about your experience, good or bad. I also got a quote for a truck/car dolly and even before putting fuel in the truck it is still several hundred dollars more for the truck.
One of the reasons that many of the more established mobile/portable container companies don't service specific markets is the fact that many municipalities now forbid the placement of unattended vehicles, trailers, or containers on some private property and public access thoroughfares. The U-Box service if a fairly new addition to market. It's best to talk to the delivery franchisee to make sure they can deliver the containers to where you are moving before you confirm the arrangements, otherwise you might still end up renting a truck.
I have already verified that they go where I want them to, which is out in the middle of the corn in rural Indiana.
