There are always [possibilities and well intentioned people talk about things they are trying to do which would be great if they work. People love you for what you do, but ultimately the check needs to clear at the bank. So, sadly with a heavy heart I must make a change.
More to do here than ever. Plenty of concerts and sporting events to enjoy. Things also closeby in areas 75 miles away or so. But, without a good job and paycheck there's no money to do these things. Plus winter is coming. It may be better to sacrifice culture for strip malls and stucco.
Just a couple of small thoughts, loose cannon - if people really loved you for what you do, they would pay you what it was worth. Otherwise, they don't love you - they are using you, and telling you what they think you need to hear to go on using you.
Endless cultural and entertainment resources are grand - for those with lots of disposable income. I am a football fanatic, and this past week I heard on the radio that the Cornhuskers vs OSU game tickets are the 4th highest tickets for college games this year - $465 apiece. That is nosebleed seats. Why would I spend $1500 (tickets, food, gas, parking, lodging overnight) to go see a lousy game that I can watch at my local bar with friends, in comfort, with closeup camera angles, for $35? People need to realize that sometimes their wants are not needs, and plan accordingly.
I lived in a large city, and could not afford any of the things there, fancy clubs, places to eat, I was just making it...watching those with fancy cars, enjoy the places I could only wish, and pass by...sort of enjoying everything vicariously...forget it...I would rather just be in a place where every one is broke...
