I started out in NY and now I live in Maryland. Prior to my move, I contemplated moving to Arizona but I've never been there. I've been to Las Vegas a few times and I really like the desert but not so much the heat. The low cost of living is great but the job market is not.
It has been a really tough year. My plans have not worked out like I anticipated. I am not sure if I should try to relocate again. I do not know. $$$$
I definitely want to move from where I am living. My neighborhood is very hip and nice but it caters to twenty-somethings. I am forty. I moved to Maryland to fulfill two of my bucket list items: live in a new city and complete graduate study. I thought living in the city would be cool and allow me to meet new people. I was wrong. I do not like it at all. It is loud and my apartment has zero privacy. I am paying $1325 for a one bedroom where I can hear everything my neighbor is doing. The pedestrian lifestyle is nice. I am close to shops, museums and cultural activities but I rarely participate. I am pretty much a homebody type. At least, I am learning about myself.
I am going to start exploring other neighborhoods that may fit me a little better. I have gotten a couple of ideas from the people on this forum. I am not ready to give up but I am really struggling to find my way. I am 40 years old and I should have it all figured out. Well, I don't.
I haven't moved that quick, but did move last year with two kids, a dog and a husband. We ended up in Pittsburgh and are in our late 40's.
So far so good. No complaints. Affordable housing, a decent city, great people and cool views.
