I have received antiques shipped greyhound freight.
It was fine for me because we have pick-ups and strapping sons. You have to pick up the crated freight at the loading dock at greyhound freight warehouse (for me 125miles away).
If you are shipping you'd need to crate..there are places that professionally crate...and then get crate to loading dock and unload/deliver the crate onto the dock.
Greyhound also has limits on crate sizes and weights they will ship. My items were small desk, side tables, & uphostered side chairs...nothing very large or extremely heavy, each crated separately. The cost was by far cheaper than UPS or Fed Ex or motor freight, but I wasn't responsible for the professional crating.
