^^ Yeah my first thought as well, except White people are numerous in each of these places(Hawaii having the lowest percentage) I'm not surprised with Illinois ranking in the top 5 for most educated Asians. I am a bit surprised that Hawaii is not in the top 5 for most educated Asians. Illinois Asian percentage is close to national average at 4.4%(568,000).
Oak Brook,IL pop. 8,828
2008
median income- $166,000
median home prices- $1,048,162
White alone- 74.5% Asian alone- 20.1%(11% Indian)
Hispanic- 2.4%
Black alone- 1.6%
The most educated for each ethnicity is simply based on states where their population are really low.
I noticed that too.
Also, and I know this is besides the point, but DC isn't a state. All lists, even my Almanac ones, list it like it were a state but it was created not to be a state so listing it as one kind of irritates me.

The Hispanics who went to Maine or ND undoubtedly moved their because of good job offers stemming from their education
I agree with you. If there were not a single person of x race in a state and one educated person who is right for a job is hired and relocated. They just shot up the percentage of educated for their race to a 100%.
I notice no one listed Native Americans on any of these lists, as if we don't exist. I think Hawaii, New Mexico and Alaska and then possibly Arizona would be high on THAT list. Thanks, world, for never including US.
(Either that or we ARE included just counted as "black" just like in the Old South.....)
Ya b/c this doesn't seem right. The Northeast is most educated region of the country.
