They have an NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

San Jose is the only city that was mentioned here that could probably support a baseball team. The MLB is actually in need of contraction imo to 14 teams per league.

How does San Jose need a team? There are two teams in the Bay Area already! I STILL vote Portland because it evens out the AL West, but I could be in favor of Charlotte as well.

Either Portland or Indianapolis. I'm slightly biased for Indy, since I checked out their minor league stadium only 2 years ago, and thought that stadium had such an amazing view of the Indy skyline.

They could always try to lure the Rays or Marlins, since neither of their future stadium issues have been resolved. Not sure if the Marlins have quite gotten a deal going to build a baseball-only stadium in the Miami area yet....

San Jose can't get a team, the SF Giants have the rights to the San Jose region.

Salt Lake and Portland make the most sense in that expansion would probably take place in the AL West since it's the only division with just 4 teams.

In this case the largest metro and largest media market are one in the same. Orlando is the 27th largest metro in the US, however, is the 20th largest media market. Orlando is in a state with a lot of other major metros with their own media markets nearby so the media market isn't even a very large geographical area. I still don't think an MLB team is desired here, we get bored too easily. NBA and IHL have done well here. There was hardly a peep when the story broke about a minor league team called the Yankees for O-town. We only support pro with the exception of IHL and Arena Football which have had good followings in years past.

How about Richmond, Virginia? Virginia doesn't have any major league sport teams and it seem that Virginians have to root for Carolina or Washington D.C pro sport teams. It would be kinda cool seeing a major league pro sport team there. I think pro sports should try to expand instead having the same old markets in cities like New York, Miami, Charlotte, Detroit, Oakland, Pittsbugh, Cinncinatti, etc. Look at the Oklahoma City Thunder for example.
