Have heard that too - probably possible as i think 6 flags is about 40 miles from CC and about 45 miles from Manhattan - plus the sight line is basically flat to either from Jackson. A safer bet is Sarah Palins house though

I do know on the approach to PHL (the westerly landing that comes through S Jersey) you can see the AC, NYC, and Philly skylines all within the last few minutes of the flight depending the approach.

I imagine the Southern approach to EWR as well as the flights heading East all start their final approach over Bucks County PA. Just look up from Newtown PA sometime and see them all lined up; they oddly arent heading to PHL (the PHL approaches are all further South to avoid NYC air traffic)

I never really noticed a major skyline in Rochester or Buffalo. Got any pics?

I voted for NY. NJ has absolutely breath-taking views, but I voted on sentimental value.

I know it's small fish, but to me, nothing compares to seeing Ithaca and Cornell at night when you are driving down into the valley from Lansing.

Especially around new year's time when they use the lights in the towers across the valley to display the date.

It's really neat.
