I also took SC History in elementary school, I don't remember what grade however. It was at least 3rd.

Utah history is taught in 7th Grade. Somewhat interesting, but not interesting enough to spend a whole year on.

California history is taught in public schools statewide. Looking back, that was my favorite history class.
