Long ago, I had chronic sinus infections for a couple of years in CO. Finally got rid of them by drinking a lot more water, getting off the antibiotics merrygoround after being on one after another without any longterm relief, and going OFF The Pill. My body needed to heal from the multiple assaults to hormonal system and immune system, so I gave it the chance to do so naturally. It didn't happen instantly, but it worked, and I didn't relapse.
I have had seasonal allergies kick up now and then both in CO and in western WA in a seaside town. So far, they have not hung around long enough for sinuses to become infected, not since kicking the antibiotics habit.
My husband got frequent sinus infections in both states, so I think there is more to it than dry vs damp air.
I moved to SW Oregon, Grants Pass a year ago and have been ok UNTIL I caught a severe head cold in Dec 2017 after I was over the cold, it started!! I feel lightheaded, not vertigo, an unbalanced feeling with sinus pressure between my eyes and along the side of my nose. Cross your eyes and walk around through life, equilibrium is slightly off. I have had a CT scan, ENT doctor said it is stress related...I wish Xanax would help this feeling. TWO doctors, TWO specialist, one CT scan, acupuncture and nothing. We moves from the High Desert of Southern California and I had sinus infections multiple times a year. Anyone out there with the same issues? Thanks S
I'm in Central Fla between Tampa and Orlando. I have been plagued with Sinusitis this year. So bad I developed off and on ear aches. Also terrible fatigue and lightheadedness. I've been on a number of antibiotics and now allergy meds. I started doing daily nasal rinse. It seems to help. Today I had a Sinus CT Scan. Doctor called and I'm being referred to the ENT because scan showed sinus changes.
This is a serious problem. For me the pollen and humidity seem to be triggers. I don't know if mold might be part of this problem. Florida is humid all year.
Don't fool around with this problem, as it can take over your life without you realising it. If you have chronic problems with sinuses. See the ENT. Don't keep going to urgent care centers. All they will do is give you antibiotics.

Tampa definitely has high mold spore counts at times. You can track that for part of the year from this site:
It does not cover Orlando. Please note: this is a site for actual pollen and mold spore counts, rather than just forecasts based on unknown models (which often look pretty useless to me).
I'd guess the coastal parts of Northern California and the lower Pacific Northwest would be worth a try. The fresh breeze with a bit of salt in the mix and the fairly stable temperatures are great for the sinuses.
The only way to know if a place is healthy for you is to go there.
I have terrible sinus problems along the eastern seaboard from Florida to Vermont.
Yet as soon as I go west of the Appalachian mountains my sinuses clear right up.
I used to live in Lexington, Kentucky, which everyone told me was the worst place in America for people with allergy problems, yet I had ZERO problems there.

I was told my problems stem from a Deviated Septum, and then allergies aggravate the problem. I was given an allergy test and results came back as allergic to mold. I can only imagine the amount of mold, here in hot humid Florida.
I am not having surgery for the Septum. I'm going to stick with the small dose of allergy meds. The Sinus Rinse is helping me. Other than that I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for that link. It will be put to use.
