Is it possible to just sell your house, buy a camper and just live on the road?

It's easier to live in a camper full time today with all the technology that allows us to pay our bills online, but what happens when your drivers license expires and you have to go in and get it renewed?

What are some other possible issues you think one would run into living a nomadic lifestyle

Just check out the Full Time RV forums Thousands do it all the time.

For "Real" mail, most use a Forwarding / Scan service in some Tax Convenient place.

There ought to be somewhere where a person could rent a very very very very small condo, say 15 ft.² or something like that so that you could have a "permanent" address. Preferably, in a no income tax state.
