Hello i am trying to decide between Suny Cortland and New Paltz, i want to major in Biology and i would like to know which college offers a better program, in the future i will probably will like to become a veterinarian or a doctor so please help me ASAP with my decision
Actually, the SUNY campus I would look into is SUNY-Geneseo. If you can, I'd try to get this moved to the NY or the Colleges and Universities section of the Education forum.
New Platz has more to offer in the city proper and is a quick train ride away from NYC. Cortland is, on the other hand, is just twenty miles from Ithaca, one of the most beautiful and fun college towns in the country.
My sense is that Cortland is a bigger party school (if that sways you one way or another).
My guess is that both would be about the same in terms of academics. I'd ask about internship opportunities. Hands-on experience will help you get into a veterinary program later.
For the record, my favorite SUNY campus is Fredonia. Such a cute town, right on the lake, inexpensive, beautiful houses, great little bakeries.

Lol, already three different spellings of SUNY New Paltz. Just thought that was funny...sorry I have no input on either school other than having been to New Paltz once.
