E.G. South Central (TX, AR, MS, LA) - I would say personality type is extraverted, friendly, conservative

What about the other regions?

PacNW
Northeast
North Midwest
Lower Midwest
Southwest
Mountain
South East

I'm from the south central US and most people I came up around would be described as somewhat shy, friendly, and hardly conservative. They became extroverts when they would drink.

This is completely based on stereotype (and thus should be taken with a grain of salt), but here's my how I'd break each down:

Pacific Northwest: Aloof, smug, outwardly pleasant
Northeast: Abrasive, confrontational, hot-headed, loud
Upper Midwest: Passive-aggressive, non-confrontational, stoic, polite
Lower Midwest: What-you-see-is-what-you-get
Southwest: ¿Que?
Mountain: Independent, conservative
California: Freewheeling, indulgent, extroverted
Texas: Texans (yep, "Texan" is a personality trait).
Southeast: Conservative to the extreme, sweet as apple pie until you insinuate you're gay, atheist, or dating a person of color

Are PacNWers really that aloof? I've never been but would be interested to see if there is any weight to the "Seattle Freeze"

South-Centraler here, and in Oklahoma we're known for being gregarious and open, quite loud but polite, and somewhat "Rednecky." Everything's sweet as pecan pie until someone mentions the Tejas Horns....then it can get ugly. (Ha!)

You might call most of us Okie men brash but oddly positive, I dare say.

PacNW- Fairly relaxed, outdoors adventure types.
Northeast- Rude, pushy, awful accents
North Midwest- Oddly liberal, polite, keep to themselves
Lower Midwest- More redneck than places like AL, MS, GA
Southwest- Spirit of the desert
Mountain- Libertarian, cowboy spirit
South East- Friendly, comfortable

They are pretty aloof but some other qualities I would like to add are adventurous, open minded, green thumb, and environmentally conscious

A certain contingent. Not the majority. This is mainly a popular C-D stereotype.

The "polite" factor is quite strong in the Upper Midwest, esp WI, MN, ND...
