Out west the mountains are bigger, but the White Mountains are also pretty large + prominent. The Presidential Range is just breathtaking, and its relatively close to towns and such, not quite so isolated. Out of the Appalachians, these rule supreme, but the downside is that the whether there is just vicious. And during mid-summer, there isnt any snow, so tourists run rampid...

I don't like a particular mountain region/range, but I will say I love to look at cities like Phoenix and Las Vegas, which are in the Desert Southwest and always have beautiful mountains in the backgrounds. I'm so jealous we live in the East with all the vegetation....the mountains here are pretty too, but not like out there!
If I had a nice home close to friends in family, I could be happy if it were placed in any of the mountain ranges. That even includes small moutains like Ozarks or Porcupine. I love hills and mountains.
