I'm going to try and make this sound clear because it seemed like a cool idea in my head. Take an entire US map, or possibly just your state or region of the country. Color coat the areas you feel are most similar to one another or have the most connections and ties. You don't have to color coat entire states, like possibly New Hampshire and Vermont as an example, if you don't want to. For example, if you use the South, you could color coat the Black Belt region. Or, make it even more specific. For example, grouping the Charlotte metro, the SC Upstate, and the Atlanta metro together by coloring it all together. These three metros are pretty connected, and aren't too dissimilar. Hope this is all coming out clearly. If it doesn't make sense, do me a favor and move on!
