Look at history, we all can see that the Rust Belt cities have fallen to economic decay and cities in the South are rising. Do you think any of the Rust Belt cities could make a come back and which cities do you think would make the biggest comebacks?

Detroit's been revitalizing for a few years now. But I think it'll stablize, not return to 1.8 million people.

^^^ Ditto, Pittsburgh. I think it'll stabilize eventually (when will be a 20/20 hindsight thing), but it may not be as large as before.

All of them have the potential to make a comeback, but it seems Pittsburgh has been doing the most to improve itself of all the other cities, so it gets my vote.

Well I'd say Philly as it will do the best imo, but it should'nt really be on that list. To me, it doesnt qualify as rustbelt.

Out of the cities on this list....................St. Louis. Newark will fare well because of its proximity to New York, ditto for Philly.

I agree Philly's not part of the Rust Belt, but I would say that it has fallen off. But it's making a comeback. Crime and education are the real problems there.

Like Steve-o said, all of them have potential to make a comeback, some will be more difficult than others, but with the right leaders and attitude, it can be done. And as Jimmy Valvano said "Dont ever give up!"

It's awesome to see that nobody considers Scranton to be "Rust Belt" anymore! Have we finally rounded the corner?
