If anything there is an anti-Midwest and anti-South bias. People will throw your opinion in the trash because you're from "flyover country" or you live in a "backwards" part of the country.

There is a bias towards three tiers of cities.

The "Sexy" cities: Portland, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver
The classic, megacities: Chicago, Los Angeles, NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, DC
Up and coming cities: Columbus, Minneapolis, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte
I would call them legacy cities instead of megacities. I don't think most would consider Boston,DC, and Philly to be megacities.

What's a "legacy city?" I've never heard that expression before.

Sorry but C-D is populated by homers from the South! Go read how many "Southern versus threads" there are on here.

I'd say there is more of an anti Midwest and anti South bias than a pro West bias.

I agree in general, though you do hear a lot of that "East Coast are rude/mean" stuff here, while it seems like the West is only criticized for being "too liberal" or whatever, which is really a backhanded compliment because they're saying the people there are too nice and tolerant for their own good.

Hardly. The East loses a lot of polls.

Nope. NYC always wins over L.A. in the vs. polls all the time! In fact NYC always wins whether it's Chicago, Toronto, Mexico City, or London. The majority of posters have a definite East Coast bias domestically, and a U.S.A. bias internationally.
